The DKRZ CMIP6⁺ Data Pool (CDP) provides the largest online data collection of the recent phase 6 of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project (CMIP6) in Europe. In this talk, we highlight our CMIP data analysis support service with a focus on data access and usage.

In 2016, DKRZ made it their mission to create and operate the national CMIP6⁺ Data pool as part of the German Alliance DICAD supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Today, the DKRZ CDP is the data basis for the IPCC report AR6 and contributes to the Copernicus Climate Data Store. Ongoing activities on analysis services for working with the CDP are coordinated within the IS-ENES3 project.
The DKRZ CDP is a curated data repository filled with both the German contribution to CMIP6 as well as the most important international CMIP6⁺ data including CMIP5 and CORDEX data. In addition, DKRZ hosts a Earth System Grid Federation (ESGF) data node where the CDP is published and replicated.
DKRZ users highly benefit from services around the CDP workflow like shared common access points, supported tools for evaluation (cdo) as well as maintained analysis platforms (jupyterhub). We will give an example tutorial on CMIP6 analysis with a jupyter notebook and using the catalog tool intake-esm.
